How did your earlier career choices lead you to where you are today?

To be honest, when I entered medical school and residency training, I never imagined I would end up in the type of role I have today. In fact, roles like mine didn't even exist at that time. I've learned new skills and been open to training and education that expands my capabilities beyond front line patient care with purposeful involvement in both internal and external development and educational programs like obtaining an MBA, attending leadership conferences and employer sponsored leadership development programs. I have always been open to trying new things and pushing my peers and colleagues to be open to transformation. This willingness to change things up and innovate, experiment with new models of care, develop new skills and embrace technologies that improve care is what has set me up for success in my current role.
